Behind every experience is a talented team and a strong operational backbone — and that’s where this role comes in.

We’re looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the financial operations of a fast-paced, service-driven events business.

This is a pivotal role, working closely with the Head of Finance, senior leadership, and operational teams to ensure strong financial control, clear commercial insight, and accurate reporting across a dynamic, project-based environment.

You’ll play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of global events by driving financial performance, improving processes, and partnering closely with Production, Sales, and Client Services teams.

  • Oversee cashflow, forecasting, and liquidity

  • Support VAT compliance and financial governance

  • Implement best practice in project budget management

Budgeting, Forecasting & Commercial Insight

  • Partner with teams on revenue and profitability forecasting

  • Deliver post-event financial analysis and insights

  • Improve financial understanding across non-finance teams

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop the Senior Finance Manager and wider team

  • Foster a high-performing, service-focused finance function

  • Coach, mentor, and support career development

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Drive improvements in finance systems and reporting tools

  • Enhance automation, accuracy, and efficiency

  • Refine processes around billing, suppliers, and project tracking

What you will bring

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent

  • Experience in a service-based environment (events, agency, production, experiential, or hospitality preferred)

  • Strong understanding of project accounting, margins, and revenue recognition

  • Proven experience leading and developing finance teams

  • Strong Excel and finance systems skills (Acumatica desirable)

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail

  • Confidence working with both financial and non-financial stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Experience with event/project management systems

  • Knowledge of freelancer/contractor management (including IR35)

  • Exposure to international VAT or multi-event financial structures

Why you'll love working here

  • Be part of a fast-growing, global events agency

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business

  • Play a key role in shaping financial processes and performance

  • Collaborative, supportive, and high-energy environment

  • Opportunity to make a real commercial impact

Benefits (UK)

  • 33 days annual leave (including Bank Holidays)

  • Hybrid working (Staines office 1 day a week + flexibility)

  • Pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer)

  • Private Medical Insurance & Cash Plan
